Information on Roosevelt School District

The Roosevelt School District is located in South Phoenix, a historic and ethnically diverse part of the city. It is also one of the poorest sections of Phoenix. Despite this, the District has tried to provide technological education for its students.

Total enrollment in the district was 11,450 in 1995, with a growth rate of 9.6 percent since 1989 and 16.2 percent since 1983. Over the last 13 years, the percentage of Hispanic students has risen to almost 70 percent, while the perecentage of Anglo and African-American students has dropped to less than 8 percent and less than 25 percent respectively.
