* The Intern Program was initially pioneered and established as a "Best Practice" by AlliedSignal, a participant in the on-going High Technology Industry Cluster/School To Work (HTICSTW) Partnership.

Six seniors from Red Mountain High work at Boeing during the 1998-99 school year: Worked full-time summer '98, 1/2 time during school year.

 

Terra Cisneros, Engineering, Avionics: Designing fonts for Longbow Apache crew displays using AutoCad.

Barbara Hungate, Engineering, Avionics: Converting Longbow Apache crew display layouts to AutoCad format.

Robert Fisher, Engineering, Software: Developing scripts to test software for the Longbow Apache.

Jeremy Mora, Engineering, Test & Evaluation: Coordinating test requests and Longbow Apache aircraft parts for testing in the stress lab.

Josh Fialla, Manufacturing Operations, Wire Harness: Layout and assembly of wire harness components.

Sergio Rivera, Manufacturing Operations, Wire Harness: Layout and assembly of wire harness components.

PROGRAM AFFILIATION

Working within the Delta Partnership, The Intern Program is planning to select a minimum of eight interns from Red Mountain High School for the 1999 - 2000 school year. Interns will be selected to work in the Manufacturing, Engineering, and People (Human Resources) Divisions.

SELECTION CRITERIA

SELECTION PROCESS

School screening Interviews with Boeing and school staff. Visit to Boeing work areas.

WORK PERFORMANCE

Highly productive Excellent performance ratings. Other work areas desire students for the 1999-2000 year.

TQM COMPETITION

Preparing to compete in the Arizona and national TQM contests as the Boeing Mesa/Red Mountain High team
