This has been a long flight and we only have days until we touch down in the "Greatest little City" in this USA, Yuma, Arizona. A lot of hard work and dedicated hours has been put into making this plane as beautiful as it was in 1949 and to re-introduce the 1949 historic flight to the Yuma community.

In 1949, Yuma had a crowd of 12,000 - 15,000 spectators for the October 10, 1949 landing. For the 50th Anniversary and Commemorative Flights on October 10th, 1999, we are preparing for a similar attendance. The weekend of October 8th, 9th, and 10th, 1999 is our opportunity to celebrate the development of Yuma and show our gratitude to the crew and community of 1949.

As it did in 1949, it has taken an entire community and dedicated individuals to successfully complete the project. The "City OF YUMA" Endurance Plane is now a beautifully restored piece of history. As your Captain, I want to congratulate each and every one of you and I extend the "grand salute" to all of you.

I hope to see everyone at the "50th Anniversary and Commemorative Flight Millennium Celebrations" on the weekend of October 8th, 9th, and 10th, 1999.

My sincere thanks and gratitude for all,

Captain Ron
